Made an old-school (typical Dutch) dessert, but I spiced it up a bit.
Rhubarb compote with strawberries, spanish red pepper & basil!
* Rhubarb * cinnamon stick * brown sugar * vanilla sugar * 2 spoons of water * spanish red pepper * fresh basil * strawberries
How to prepare
*Clean and cut the rhubarb, boil with all the ingredients for the compote except the basil and strawberries.
(leave cinnamon stick & spanish red pepper uncut, so they are easy to remove)
* Cut the strawberries in half and ad the warm rhubarb compote and fresh basil.
(After taking this picture I cut the fresh basil and added it to the compote & strawberries)
I think this dessert would taste even better with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or a large piece of chocolate cake.
